A DAIDAITA SAHU
…a Societal Reorientation Programme of the Kano State Government

PROGRAMME SYNOPSIS
“For many years now…rules of behaviour, civility and decency, which the people of Kano were renowned for, are on the decline. And indiscipline in our society is so pervasive that many people have concluded that it is impossible to get rid of. But as a community of believers who are taught by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to equate faith with good manners, indiscipline cannot be allowed to continue…”

Since the inception of the Administration of Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau on May 29, 2003, the people of Kano State have become aware of a new concept – Societal Reorientation. The people have been waiting to discover what the concept could mean to their personal and working lives.

Societal Reorientation represents, conceptually, a systematic and conscious effort through which desirable qualities such as discipline, honesty, piety, hard work, sacrifice and selflessness, among others, can be re-instilled in the society.

The slogan of the programme is A Daidaita Sahu, perhaps the most recognisable phrase to the Hausa-speaking Muslim, symbolising order, discipline and sense of community. The programme’s organisational structure has been designed to include a State Council, various state committees, a committee in each local government and a Zauren Shawara in each urban ward. A Directorate, headed by a Director-General, would take-care of the day-to-day affairs while the State Council would be responsible for policy-making.

The task to reorient our society is one of the most difficult challenges of our time. Even though daunting, societal reorientation is the fulcrum upon which our well-being and happiness depends. This programme is intended to be all-encompassing, covering all members of the society. Distinct groups have been categorised for which specific values and strategies have been designed: civil servants; educational institutions; urban and rural communities; women; youth; and the business community.

Godiya ta tabbata ga Allah Madaukakin Sarki.

Jama’a, Assalamu Alaikum.

Muna kara godiya ga Allah, Madaukakin Sarki, Wanda Ya nuna mana wannan muhimmiyar rana ta kaddamar da wannan shiri mai albarka wanda aka yiwa lakabi da A Daidaita Sahu. Wannan shiri ya zo daidai lokacin da ake matukar bukatarsa.

Wato lokacin da al’adun mu masu daraja suke gurbacewa da wasu miyagun dabi’u da suka shigo mana daga baya.

Ta wannan shiri ne ake son a inganta tarbiyyar al’ummar mu a bisa kyawawan dabi’u na zamantakewa wadanda suka dace da addini da al’adu masu kyau da muka gada.

Muna kira ga dukkan jama’ar Kano wadanda suke a gida da waje da su fahimci kyakkyawar manufar wannan shiri kuma kowa ya tallafa don samun nasarar sa. Koda yake wannan shiri ya shafi dukkan al’umma, muna kara kira ga iyaye cewa ya wajaba su kara sa ido akan babban al’amari na tarbiyyar ‘ya ‘yansu.

Haka kuma ana bukatar kowacce unguwa ta tabbatar da kafa Zauren Shawara don tattauna matsalolin dake damun unguwar da samo kyawawan hanyoyin magantasu.

Muna rokon Allah ya sa wannan shiri na A Daidaita Sahu ya kasance sila ta gyara ta’adu da tarbiyyar al’ummar mu, ta yadda zamu sami kyakkyawar rayuwa da cigaba mai albarka.Allah Ya kare imaninmu da addininmu da mutuncinmu. Allah Ya bamu lafiya da zama lafiya. Allah Ya albarkaci wannan shiri, amin.Wassalamu Alaikum.
